Programs, I don’t know, related to actual history?

I remember when I first found out that they were adding the History channel to our cable lineup I was thrilled. I’ve always been fascinated with history and looked forward to it. It was great for awhile. I knew I could always turn it to the HC and find something I’d be interested in watching. I have purchased DVD sets of their programs.

Then it slowly started changing. Now I rarely watch it at all. Last night I took a chance and looked at the schedule for Memorial Day thinking maybe they might have something on related to the holiday. Color me unsurprised. Evidently the programming geniuses at HC have decided we need to see a marathon of “Monster Quest” on Memorial Day.

Lovely.

How to express my opinion of this? Lemme see…

What the ever loving FUCK are you people thinking?!? If it’s called the fucking History Channel shouldn’t you show programming related to history instead of a group of assholes chasing down non-existant mythical fucking creatures? Don’t get me started about Ghost Hunters. Jesus fucking Christ! Oh another example… what the hell is up with the anti-christianity bent your channel has taken? What the hell is the fascination with the Davinci Code and all that bullshit? UFO’s? I can’t even discuss that one it irritates me so much! And if I see another fucking show about Nostradamus I’m going to barf. How about Ice Road Truckers and Axe Men? When did your channel become Discovery Channel lite? At this point I’d rather watch Mike Rowe pick up dog shit on the side of the road than watch your pathetic excuse for a channel that caters to viewers with an IQ of warm fucking oatmeal!

Sadly one of the few history related programming choices you’ve made is the history in the classroom block that’s on at ohfuckthirty in the morning. I think that’s one of the things that bothers me the most about your crappy channel. It could be a tool for students to learn more and become interested in history but instead you decide in your infinite wisdom to show bullshit that appeals to the “American Idol” mindset.

Perhaps it’s time to be intellectually honest and change the name of the channel.

The Freak Channel sounds about right….
