Nagin??

Prepare for your head to spin on your shoulders in the style of Linda Blair:

As we thankfully near the end of the Nagin administration, everything seems to be falling apart at City Hall. Therefore, it is interesting that there are sources reporting this morning that Ray Nagin is being considered for the position of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the new Obama administration. According to one leading Democrat, Nagin is on the short list for the job because of “his experience leading New Orleans during the post-Katrina period.”

You have got to be fucking kidding me!

Every day we see more evidence that Obama ain’t that bright and had no business being elected.

God, the next four years are going to be fun!

I’m surprised he doesn’t want him for Transportation…

OH! I know… the underside of the Obama bus is getting very crowded… he knows Ray has a shitload of school buses he can borrow…

Evil

When I was in High School I took a psychology class. During that year we were asked to do a report. The teacher had a list of subjects on the board and we were told to choose our subject.

I chose child abuse.

I researched the subject and the more I read the more depressed I became. I couldn’t believe what so-called adults would do to innocent children. I think it was the first time I really recognized true evil. When I gave my report to the class the classroom was noisy. By the end of the report you could hear a pin drop. I included a list of 40 ways in which children had been tortured and killed and I finished with the story of a little girl who was killed by having red pepper shoved into her throat, rocks put in her pockets, and her body had been thrown in the river. It happened in New York.

I remember hearing someone who was shocked at what I’d read saying oh my god in a quiet voice.

When I finished reading I went back to my desk and put my head down and cried.

That little girl’s story has haunted me since I was 17 years old.

Today I read something worse.

The following link is not something you should read if you’re the least bit sensitive.

My Mother used to say that the world was like a wind up watch that was slowly winding down and eventually it would stop.

When I read something like this I believe she was right.

Oh my god…

No way in hell the fed should save these dumbasses.

Autoworkers are not special.

My husband is unemployed and he made a hell of a lot less than an autoworker.

Screw em.

No bailout for the Big 3.

Monopoly

Not politics but the game.

We’ve been playing a couple of times a week lately. Richard and I. And let me tell you he is cut throat when he plays. Damn. We’ve tinkered with our game and made some new rules. $2000 on free parking and we double the cash passed out at the first of the game.

Doubling the cash made it kind of hard when the money would run out so we created our own game the other night.

We have three monopoly sets. Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and the basic game.

We combined all of the games into one. We use the basic board, basic cards, all of the money, and we choose who we “play” from all of the tokens. The shoe, iron, car, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Gandalf, Gimli, etc. lol We also use all of the “houses” and “hotels” from the other games.

It’s a little odd to see a fortress from LOTR on Boardwalk but it works. We run out of the regular houses and hotels. We’re hard core players. lol

We’ve got lots of games. Scrabble, a bingo set the kid wanted, dominoes, backgammon (which I love), chess, chinese checkers, checkers, Yahtzee, Risk, cards, UNO, Trivial Pursuit, etc.

For some reason we play monopoly. Most people don’t like it because the games last forever but we like it and have been known to start playing at 8m and stay up until 2am playing.

We’re weird. What was really funny was the few times the kid played with us he did well. He kicked our asses once. Of course we gave him a little extra cash at the start but it was a shock when the nine year old beat the 44 and 47 year olds! ROFL

He’s not interested now that he’s beaten us.. so we old coots battle it out. lol

Update

DH hasn’t found a job yet. He applied for two positions at one place yesterday. They wanted his social security number and he wasn’t pleased with the idea of supplying it over the net. He e-mailed them and told them and they called. He told them why. Having had someone at his previous employer *spit* steal social security numbers and SELL them makes you careful about giving it out. They understood and told him what he needed to know. The lady also told him she’d be out of the office until Monday. Joy. So he went ahead and e-mailed his crap (resume, references, & cover letter). Both positions are in Stillwater. Don’t think I’ve ever been there but from what my Aunt said it’s a nice place. The population numbers are very different from here:

OKC 547,274
Stillwater 46,065 (25,000 of which are students from what I’ve read)

Considering I lived at one time in a town with about 6000 that’s okay. I like smaller towns.

It would be a step up from living here… where someone was shot not 200 feet from my front door and we hear gun shots going off all the time. ugh

No this isn’t about politics.

I’d intended for awhile to make buffalo chicken for Richard. I don’t do wings so I did it with chicken tender chunks. Well I made the chicken and then made the sauce. Served it and sat down and tasted it.

OMG I think my brain melted it was so hot. After tasting them I didn’t speak for a few minutes. R knew something was wrong from the look on my face. I could feel my lips swelling. I could feel the headache coming. I thought I was gonna die!

Just kidding but I did have an allergic reaction to it. Whew. Damn. Just DAMN! I think I used a bit too much hot sauce. Richard loved them. lol

Reminds me of the time his sister sent us a bottle of The Hottest Fuckin Sauce (600,000 on the Scoville scale).

You have to understand, prior to marrying Richard, I had only had one run in with anything really hot in my life. My Mother was eating peppers, jalapeno, one night as we were eating out. She did something and the juice squirted in my eye. I was a child. I lost it. I think I screamed. It was bad. It was so bad I never let my Mother forget it. A year before she died we drove past a parking lot and I made the comment that “didn’t that used to be the place you squirted the pepper juice in my eye”. The building had been gone for EVER. She rolled her eyes and said I evidently was never going to let her forget.

It’s not something you really forget when it happens to you as a child. lol

Back to the fuckin hot sauce… we decided to bravely try it. I was standing next to the fridge and Ricahrd was standing at the end of the kitchen. I touched the very top of the bottle. Barely getting anything on the tip of my finger and then tasted it. JESUS FUCKING CHRIST HANGING ON THE CROSS! The next thought that crossed my mind was I wonder if I can move fast enough to cut out my tongue. My brain exploded. I’m surprised my heart didn’t stop beating. I knew milk would neutralize it and I did something that absolutely disgusts me when I see someone else doing it. I grabbed the milk carton out of the fridge. Ripped the lid off and drank right out of the bottle. After I calmed down and reigned in the fires of hell Richard tasted it. I quickly handed him the carton and he did the same thing. lol That shit is still in our fridge. Hiding. Waiting to hurt someone. Damn!

I do have a use for it in mind. I think it would make an excellent weapon. Add some vinegar to a spray bottle and add a tablespoon or two to the bottle. Shake it up really well. Someone tries to get in the apartment, spray the dumbass in the eyes with it, and while their eyeballs are melting and running down their face brain them with a cast iron skillet. I think that would stop someone.

Anyway the hot wing fiasco was the night before last. Last night we tried a jar of cheese salsa I bought at the store. I’d had their straight salsa and like it in the past. Bought the cheese version just to try it. NEVER AGAIN will I eat it. Richard liked it of course.

That’s good because he’s going to get to eat the rest of that crap! I like cayenne sauce in my gumbo, I can handle some heat in my chili, I’ve made Kung Pao sauce so hot that it would ignite your nose hair and eaten it. But I don’t think I’ll ever be up to Richard’s level.

I like being able to actually taste things.

h/t Naked Emperor News

God this pisses me off. Thank you you fucking idiot 52%. I’m sure your kids will be the first to sign up for this fucking fiasco. I’m sure they’ll enjoy being sent to New Orleans to clean refrigerators full of stinking rotting food, searching for dead bodies, or any number of enjoyable things that happen after a “natural disaster”.

Why is it that my child is seen as a tool to be used by these people? My child comes from out here in Oklahoma where we stand on our own goddamned feet and deal with our problems on our own. You’re not getting your hands on MY child you asshole.

I guess it’s escaped their notice that someone from the ages of 18 to 25 might actually be working and paying those taxes they fucking love so much.

You can take your plan and shove it up your ass, you son of a bitch.

If you want brown shirts you’re going to have to use your gullible 52%.

The 48% want nothing to do with your “plan”.

Richard Sr. enlisted after Pearl Harbor. He was 16 or 17. His parents were divorced. His Father gave permission for him to join up. His Mother was furious. He was on the USS Silverstein in the Pacific.

Image 1
Richard is on the right.

Image 2
USS Silverstein

Image 3

Richard Sr. has alzheimers. He has trouble remembering anything recent. Conversations on the phone can be interesting, bless his heart. But he can remember his time in the Navy. When my husband, Richard Jr., went to visit they went to see the National World War 2 museum in New Orleans. They treated him like he was royalty and he enjoyed every minute of it. lol

It makes me sad to think that soon the veterans of WW2 will no longer be with us. It will be a loss that those of us who are older will feel deeply. The younger among us unfortunately, IMO, don’t realize what they did for our world.

It’s up to us to make sure they’re remembered with respect.

You’ve emboldened the dumbassed democrats in congress to the point that they’re actually thinking of doing something like this:

Dems Target Private Retirement Accounts

What was that word we talked about during the election? Socialism. This is a good example of it.

When I read this my mouth dropped open at the blatant stupidity:

The president-elect’s advisers quietly craft a proposal to ship dozens, if not hundreds, of imprisoned terrorism suspects to the United States to face criminal trials

Obama Planning U.S. Trials for Guantanamo Detainees

Jesus, am I the only person who read this and thought it sounded like a lovely invitation to the AQ wack jobs to come over here and rescue their comrades in arms? Take out some American citizens at the same time? Nice time to attack? Give them targets?

That was the beauty of them being held at Guantanamo Bay. They aren’t here. That’s what has always amazed me about any discussion about this topic.

Can’t people see it’s better to have these assholes where they are instead of inside our country?

Well if the dumbasses want to do this then I humbly suggest they NOT bring them to Oklahoma.

We know what to do with people like this.

We kill them.

Wouldn’t want to do that now would he? Better they go somewhere that they think like the glorious leader-to-be.

Perhaps a blue state?

Of course it’s because we’re racists and rubes.

But what we really don’t like are liberals.

These days Oklahoma Democrats dread running for local office in presidential election years, for fear of being associated with liberal nominees at the top of the ticket.

I’m sure it’s confusing for Democrats in other areas of the country to hear this but there are more Democrats in Oklahoma than Republicans. Republicans here gained control of the state legislature for the first time in a century.

None of our counties went for Obama even though our “wonderful” Governor Brad Henry endorsed him.

Personally I hope Henry’s ass gets kicked out next time he’s up for re-election because of the way he handled the situation with my husband’s previous employer. Hey he’s a DEMOCRAT and my husband’s employer is now sending jobs overseas and over 300 people here are unemployed.

Nice work dumbass.

Oklahoma is a nice place to live, and will be even better after we get rid of Henry, so if you’re living in a liberal Democrat hellhole come on out here. People here would cut off their arm to help you if you need help and we have weather that’s not too bad (sunny, rain, bit of snow) and we’ll even teach you how to hide from tornadoes. :)

Steyn nails McCain

“The greatest dangers to liberty,” wrote Justice Brandeis, “lurk in the insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.”

Now who does that remind you of?

Ha! Trick question! Never mind Obama, it’s John McCain. He encroached on our liberties with the constitutional abomination of McCain-Feingold. Well-meaning but without understanding, he proposed that the federal government buy up all these junk mortgages so that people would be able to stay in “their” homes. And this is the “center-right” candidate? It’s hard for Republicans to hammer Obama as a socialist when their own party’s nationalizing the banks and its presidential nominee is denouncing the private sector for putting profits before patriotism. That’s why Joe the Plumber struck a chord: He briefly turned a one-and-a-half party election back into a two-party choice again.

the Obamobots or the McCainiacs but it’s nice to see AP writers still sticking a knife in her back for their Messiah the One.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin called her critics cowards and jerks Friday for deriding her anonymously and insisted she never asked for the expensive wardrobe purchased for her use on the presidential campaign.

Palin denounces her critics as cowardly

Get em girl. Take on the failed McCain team. They couldn’t get jack shit elected if they tried. You fought. Their guy didn’t. McCain has no freaking honor. Epic fail on his part.

All the leaking by the McCain aides smells to high heaven. IMO, they knew their candidate sucked and that she was the one that appealed to the base so they’re now trying to blame her. As far as the damned clothes are concerned I call bullshit on their version of the story.

This is a woman who went into a Walmart to buy diapers and bought the store brand diapers for her son. I don’t see her as someone who would shop at those high falutin stores that McCain’s wife shops at. It’s bullshit and his aides know it. Palin chose to go back to wearing her clothes.

I was thrilled to see photos of her in jeans and comfortable clothes.

The McCain campaign are the ones with the misguided idea that we, the voters, need to see a candidate dressed like she just stepped off the freaking fashion runway. Do they really want to get into the clothes thing when McCain’s wife most likely spent $300,000.00 on one outfit for one freaking night of the convention? Keep in mind this was the same night she and Mrs. Bush were talking about the victims of the hurricane.

BTW, go to the link above and and look at that photo.

Then tell me who has more class. McCain’s wife or Laura Bush. Evidently being rich doesn’t translate to having taste in clothing. The night I saw this craptastic outfit (and I don’t care who designed it.. it looks like early Judy Neutron) I told my husband I hoped to god someone had the sense to choose better clothing for her. Cindy McCain’s taste in clothing reminds me so much of Semi-homemade’s Sandra Lee’s god awful tablescapes. Ugh.

It was a tough battle between Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama to see who had the worst taste in clothing. Between McCain’s pseudo Mrs. Cleaver look and Michelle Obama’s dresses made from frabric ripped from a curtain rod.

My taste is simple and I don’t think it would change if I had tons of cash. Simple clothing. Simple suits. Jeans, t-shirts, and sweaters. God help me I can NOT stand neon colors and pastel colors. Or hideous flowered patterns. Black and red, baby, black and red. Do not even talk to me about the color pink. Jesus!

Whew.. sorry bout that. I’d held all that in and I guess I needed to get it out. lol

Require?

From Obama’s site:

America Serves

“When you choose to serve — whether it’s your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood — you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That’s why it’s called the American dream.”

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

*Emphasis mine

Let’s look up the definition of “require”:

1. to have need of; need
2. to call on authoritatively; order or enjoin to do something
3. to ask for authoritatively or imperatively; demand.
4. to impose need or occasion for; make necessary or indispensable
5. to call for or exact as obligatory
6. to place under an obligation or necessity

That sure doesn’t sound “voluntary” to me.

*Update

Looks like there’s been a “change” on the site:

Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by setting a goal that all middle school and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year and by developing a plan so that all college students who conduct 100 hours of community service receive a universal and fully refundable tax credit ensuring that the first $4,000 of their college education is completely free. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start.

Really presidential. Gee, if this is what his presidency is going to be like it’s going to be a fun four years.

Oh and I wonder, after seeing his first press conference, if his toilet paper has “Toilet paper of the President Elect” on it…
