(Some of you are saying WTF is she talking about crocheting…. because it relaxes me and helps keep my hands from turning into claws. lol)
My Mother used to do mile a minute afghans so not long ago I thought I’d try and find a pattern for one online. Ye gods, whoever wrote the instructions might as well have been writing in a foreign language. Couldn’t make heads or tails of it and gave up. Richard,
sweetheart that he is, said to blow whatever I want on yarn and crocheting since I can’t do cross stitch because of my eyes.
Bad mistake. I made a run to a craft store, Hobby Lobby, and thought I’d died and gone to yarn heaven. Bought @cough@ some @cough@ yarn and while I was there drooling all over everything I found a pattern for MAM afghans. I bought it and tried it and when you see how to do it it makes a bit more sense than simple text instructions.
Mile A Minute? More like Mile A Year. The one I’m working on now the panels are sooo long that I’m thinking of making them shorter. I’m planning on giving it to my Aunt for her birthday. Of course starting over means ripping one whole panel out but I think I’d be happier if I could actually FINISH it before her birthday.
Next week is my birthday (43… good lord) and I’ll be hitting thriftbooks.com for used books and the hobby store again for yarn for my present.
I may need a UHaul for the yarn… just kidding Richard… maybe….

Around here it’s the looney one who is into doing the crochet stuff. We were at Wally World tonight and they had 3 huge bins in the clearance isle with just yarn and it was all $1
Ohh yeah Michaels have some good deals next week on yarn too
