Explicitly Ambiguous

The weather is more normal now, thank God, hopefully it will stay that way for at least a little while.

It got down to around 11 degrees the other night and we ended up with a leak over our kitchen sink. Turns out it was from upstairs. Finally fixed yesterday.

Other than that I’ve been listening to some audio books, working with the kid who has suddenly decided he likes to draw, not on paper but with those markers you can erase on a white board. I think it’s because if he screws up he can erase it and start over.. can’t do that with crayons. lol He’s like his parents.. a perfectionist. lol

While listening to audio books I’ve been crocheting. I’m working on something that started out as a shawl for me but has morphed into a throw for the sofa. I don’t know how that happened but what the hell. I’ll do the shawl next. I’ll probably be done with both of them by the spring of 2008. haha

I wanted to say something about Congress and the troop surge and all of that but I can’t be arsed to think about it today. I will post about it but not today.

I woke up with a damned cold.

My luck is still holding. lol

Well back to my shawl/throw and my audio book…

Saw this on Newsbusters and it cracked me up.

Evidently FoxNews was a tad afraid of saying the name of the book (Intercourses: An Aphrodisiac Cookbook) or showing the cover. I’ve always thought the cover was very nice and you can see it if you click the name of the book in this post. The woman has what looks to be white body paint applied and she’s discreetly covered in strawberries. The images for each food section are done in the same style. It’s not porn… good lord! lol

We have tried one of the recipes… one for french toast. It didn’t make us run for the bedroom but it nearly made us run for the phone to call the dentist. Ye gods I’ve never had french toast that sweet or rich. It was very good but DAMN! lol

Go ahead, call me a global warming denier, I dare you and when you’re done you can kiss my frozen lilly white ass.

It’s fucking 32 degrees right now. Oh we had one weird damned day when it was 70 degrees but then the temp started to plummet again. I’ve taken up crocheting again to keep my fingers from freezing into claws from arthritis.

Everyone in my house now has a scarf hand crocheted by moi. The only ones who don’t are the cats and if it doesn’t warm up soon they may be sporting new neckwear.

I’ve had to cancel two appointments to get a yearly mammogram because of shitty weather. I waited a week and set another for next Friday. Watch it snow/sleet.

I never thought I’d look forward to spring and tornado season..
