We’d been ordering from a delivery joint here called Marino’s Pizza & Chicken. I’d called so often that they knew who I was and our address. Nice people and the food was always good. Called tonight and ordered the usual for the kid and a chicken sandwich for myself. They’d just started serving the chicken sandwiches and I’d loved the ones I’d had.
I should have known something was wrong when the driver took forever to get here. Turns out he was new… and so was the cook. The food was horrendous compared to what I’d had from there before. I was so shocked when I talked to Richard I mentioned it to him. He pushed me to call the manager. I’m not happy with what I found out.
Turns out it was recently sold. Everyone is new. The manager apologized over and over. He kept on apologizing and went on to tell me that they are going to have “higher food standards” than the previous owner.
My jaw dropped. I KNOW what the food was like. I was so shocked I didn’t say much else. If I’d said what I’d wanted to I would have told him that I was a fucking regular customer of the previous owner and had ordered from them for over a year. I’d just told this asshat that his food sucks ass and he goes on to talk down about the previous owner to me? Asshole!
If this was an example of their “new” higher standards they’re going to have to go a long fucking way.
If they’d rubbed cat shit on the sandwich it would have been an improvement.
I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them again.
