Chicks Free Speech

The Dixie Chicks aren’t sorry. And I’m glad. And grateful. So I went out this weekend and bought their latest CD, which is the one that country music stations controlled by Clear Channel (isn’t that redundant?) are not playing. God Bless America, just not the free speech part, I guess.

The war at home: Fighting for free speech

The author of this articls has her thong in a bunch. The Dixie Chicks new album isn’t getting played on Clear Channel stations and of course, all together now, it’s George Bush’s fault.

Bullshit.

Their album isn’t getting played because every time they open their collective ugly yaps they put down the very audience they want to buy their album. So it might make that audience use their free speech and let the stations know they don’t want the ungrateful wretches music played.

To put it bluntly and simply… the Dixie Chicks pissed in their own chili. You don’t shit where you eat. Now they’re paying for it. And here’s some news for the author of this piece. Yes, they have freedom of speech. They can express whatever ill informed opinion they have. But the country music listeners also have freedom.

They have the freedom not to buy the album and to let the stations they listen to know they don’t like being dissed.

Now the chicks must sleep in the bed they made. Life’s a bitch, ya know?

it’s really funny how an individual’s talent will give them a microphone, then they feel the need to abuse it with comments/agendas that have nothing to do with what gave them the microphone in the first place.
