When I cleaned out the kids closet I ended up with a huge box filled with well taken care of baby/kid clothes and we had a perfectly good Graco playpen and didn’t know what to do with them. I could have put it all on ebay and made some money or taken them to a consignment place but I didn’t want to do that.
The not so secret secret around the apartment complex is if you put something out that’s in relatively good shape someone will snag it in a hurry. I also knew there were a lot of young families in the complex. So we put the box and the other things outside with a note on the outside about what was in the box. The playpen was placed on top of the box.
They were gone in about 15 minutes.
It may seem silly but after sorting through all of the clothes and getting emotional over the thought of getting rid of them I didn’t want to sell them. I wanted someone who needed them to have them. If someone grabbed them and they sell them, bless em. I did what my heart told me to do.
Now if I could get rid of 1/2 of his freakin toys….
*I don’t know if I wrote about this before or not. The CRS syndrome is kicking in again.
