Giving up potatoes

I saw something online said about vegetables in the nightshade family making arthritis worse. At this point in my life, unable to take anti-inflammatory drugs or anything stronger than tylenol, I decided to try cutting them out of my diet. I went for 3 or 4 days without potatoes and tomatoes. My feet and hand joints didn’t burn and ache which was nice.

Then I screwed up and ordered pizza the other night. About 2 hours after eating it my feet and finger joints felt like they were on fire. It was incredibly painful. I was shocked. I think their sauce, which is very good, was made with tomato paste. I guess if I want a pizza it will have to be homemade without tomato.

Last night I had homemade fettucini alfredo and a salad without tomatoes. I felt fine last night except for some minor aching because of the weather change I guess. This morning it’s 45 degrees.

I see a lot of pasta and rice in my future. I’m also cutting way back on one of my major addictions.. Dr. Pepper. Maybe all of the changes will help. Who knows? Maybe between cutting back on salt, Dr. Pepper, and potatoes I’ll even lose some weight and feel better. lol

You can order pizza without the sauce. I used to work for Pizza Hut years ago and we’d get orders like that once in awhile.

The weather change is killing my sinuses.
