Favorite Things

1. The Art of John Brosio

If I had a ton of money I’d own more than a few of his paintings. Alas that isn’t possible. But I can always drool by going to his site. His paintings aren’t the usual flowers, landscapes, and portraits. The majority of John’s paintings are of tornadoes. Some have a unique spin to them. His “Edge of Town” series are some of my favorites. You see the tornado in the background and in the foreground you see people going about their daily lives. My favorite is no longer viewable online. Spin Cycle.. a tornado behind a laundromat. He’s also a very nice man who allowed me to use images of his paintings to make “paintings” for my Sims game.

He captures the massive power and the elegant beauty of a force of nature.

2. Doctor Who

Holy crap I’m 43 years old and I’ve become a Whovian! Joshua enjoys it too.. when he’s not covering his eyes with his hands. He hates the sounds the Daleks make. lol

3. Hell’s Kitchen

Gordon Ramsay is a swearing big soft teddy bear. If the only thing you’ve seen him in his Hell’s Kitchen then you haven’t really seen him. If you’ve only seen the American version of Kitchen Nightmares then you should try the BBCAmerica version. The americanized versions of his shows are ramped up.. including the swearing. He also comes off as being meaner in our versions. What’s not to love about a man who is a chef and says his favorite dish is one his Mother makes? lol

4. Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations

God the man is so sarcastic it’s frightening. But he loves food. I think he’d eat anything once. His shows on China are my favorites. I love chinese cooking. I want to make soup dumplings after seeing them on his show! He has an evil sense of humor that is a joy to watch. It’s a show that you should watch at least once.
