A sample of what I’ve been doing.

isabel
Richard’s great great Grandmother on his Mother’s side, Isabel Morrison and her Granddaughter Virginia. Isabel was from Scotland. Photo taken 1924. This photo was a shock to me. I’d worked on this side of his family and all we had was his Grandmother’s name. I struggled with finding information but finally discovered this grandfather living with a family in New York. His Grandmother was listed too along with Isabel and her other children. I honestly never expected to see a photo of her. I still have no idea when she died or where she’s buried. When the photo fell out of an envelope I misread the writing on the back and thought it was Isabel’s daughter Mabel. While speaking to Richard on the phone I reread the back and got the shock of my life. It wasn’t Mabel it was her Mother! I was so excited I started crying and damned near threw up! lol There are some people in our trees that I get really attached to. Isabel is one of them. lol

double_wedding
A double wedding of two sisters. The bride and groom on the right are Richard’s Grandparents on his Father’s side. I believe the photo was taken in or around 1924 as well. We’ve always wondered what the Morehouse males looked like further back in the tree. We’re in the process of getting a photo of Hubert’s, that’s the groom’s name, father Dr. Frank Morehouse.

I know this is boring to people who aren’t interested in genealogy. lol But after years of working on these people in the tree it’s wonderful to be able to put a face with a name…
