Still scanning negatives and photos. The last of the negatives are taking forever. You can only scan one medium format negative at a time so it takes awhile. Blech. Richard’s sister is sending another box of photos, etc, for me to do. When this is over I’m going to have to invest in some photo archiving materials. She told us to keep what she sends and sent so now I need to find a way to protect them.

The next round will be photos which should be easier. She sent Richard’s dad’s photos from WW2. Lots of photos of sailors on ships, a shot of a Japanese ship, and there are even some photos of Japanese prisoners of war.. blindfolded. She wasn’t comfortable with them and wanted to toss them. Made this military history freak nearly scream in agony. Told her to send them to us.

I’m also researching Quakers. A LOT of Richard’s ancestors were Quakers so I’m finding out more about Quakers than I probably wanted to know. lol Who knew there were Quakers in the KKK in the 20’s? I sure didn’t! lol

Also want to find out if there’s some connection between Gerald Ford and Richard’s family. They do share a family surname in common and Richard’s Grandmother used to babysit with Gerald when he was a kid. Of course I think Gerald was adopted so that adds another twist to things but what the hell. I’ve already had to see if Richard’s McCain’s were related to John McCain. (His Dad requested that I checked.) It took awhile but I found out they weren’t. Different branch.

Gives me something to do and God knows there’s nothing to do around here but melt in the damned heat. lol
