The new scanner arrived
June 13, 2009It is is sooo cool. I’ve been scanning negatives for the past few days. They’re of Richard’s family and there are some great photos coming out. It can do 35mm film, black/white and color, medium format negatives, and slides. It will also scan prints of photos too of course. lol
The fun part was putting some of the negatives in the tray. They were rolled up. I’d get one end in the tray and manage to roll it out to the end and I’d slip and it would roll back up like a scroll! lol
I love old photos, there are photos of vacations, camping trips, trips to the beach, there’s even a rodeo on one of them. Baby pictures, including Richard, first communion, confirmation, pictures of Richard’s dog Linus. (He’d been wanting some of the dog forever. I’m going to print one and hang it on the wall. lol)
Unfortunately, as usual, we don’t know who some of the people are that are in the photos. Richard’s sister didn’t know some of them and she sent them. After going through this a few times I’ve decided to work on ours. Adding names. Either on the back using a soft pencil or numbering them some way and adding a cheat sheet to the box they’re located in. Doing the same for the digital photos in some way. I’d suggest that for anyone. (Names, places, dates, etc)
Because it sucks when you’re 45 and looking at photos of your family and saying who the HELL is that?!?! ROFL
