Let’s see. R’s been laid off… since Sept 30. He’s been to one jobs fair last week is going to another one today. He filed for unemployment (which really irked him… he hates having to do it even though it’s there for him) and he’s put out I don’t know how many resumes. So basically we’re in waiting mode. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that he’ll get something soon so that we can use the money he will receive from “The Jerks” to fix the AC in the car, put a better computer together for him, keep the kid in playdoh and pixos, and his other artistic supplies, and R wants to buy me some chairs for my table.
If it happens I’d be thrilled. It would be nice for Christmas to NOT be totally fucked up.
Which brings up something I’ve made a vow never to do again. Last year I made the vow that this Christmas would be better. Right dumbass he gets laid off after I said that. *rolling eyes*
The kid is now one year older. Made him a cake and had ice cream. Bought him 2 presents after explaining we couldn’t do much this year. He seemed happy with what he got. His Aunt is sending a gift certificate for him. She sent him a poster recently, Kung Fu Panda, autographed to him by Jack Black, her son works for the animation team that made the movie. Kinda cool.
R’s got this wild idea that we should collaborate on a book on how to live within your means… saving money. I think it’s because I’ve been on a royal rant about the problems with our country and our economy. That it’s not only greed on wall street. That’s it’s greed on every level of our society. If you can’t afford a home.. rent. If you want something badly save for it. Don’t spend more than you have on hand. Don’t use credit thinking you’ll worry about it when the bill comes due. It’s cheaper to cook at home than to eat out. If you make 50,000.00 a year don’t live like you make 80,000.00 a year. Etc. A book? Right. More like a short booklet. ROFLMAO
