After saying I was going to do it for awhile today I guess I’m actually going to do it. Damn. Just damn. The child has a tendency to park his ass on the carpet. Which means his eczema is in contact with the damned carpet. Have I mentioned that we’ve been going through eczema hell lately? Between the heat and everything else he’s been in a scratching fit. Which means the middle of the night. It’s been so bad he’s been sleeping with me so I can stop him… yeah right! I spent $100 at Walgreens buying crap to try and stop it. I found something they use for people with poison ivy and that ilk. Mixed it up with water and sprayed it on. Last night between benadryl (thank you Jesus for benadryl!) and the spray he slept all night long. I’m growing icicles on my nose from keeping it cooler in here… the arthritis is taking a beating too.
Today the carpet.. tomorrow tylenol for aching joints. Now I have to wait for a decent hour to do it so that my water carrier (Richard) will be awake.
Friday if she’s up to it my Aunt and Uncle will be coming down for a short visit. They have something for Joshua. Another of his television “wants”… aqua globes. lol If they make it down I’ve been told they’ll supply lunch which will be nice. The aqua globes will be cool but unfortunately the kid’s marigold “Daisy” has bought the farm. She couldn’t take the heat or sun on our balcony. I think I’m going to find him some cactus or succulents instead. Hens and chickens are cool for little kids to grow.
We do have one plant that we can use the aqua globes in. When I had Joshua the hospital was giving new Mothers a plant. I have BARELY managed to keep mine alive for almost 9 years. I’ve fought and struggled and almost lost it many times. I didn’t inherit my Grandmother’s green thumb. That woman had african violets that were 30 inches across with huge gorgeous leaves and flowers. She also had a dining room that looked like a jungle from the Pothos ivy that grew around the room. *sigh* I wish I could grow plants. Crap.
