A study worth sharing with friends both male and female:

A study conducted by UCLA’s Department of Psychiatry has revealed that
the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending
on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged
and masculine features. However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal,
she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth
and a spear lodged in his chest while he is on fire.

Crawls in…

After doing my morning exercise. Jeebus help me! lol That is NOT the sedate 2 mile walk I’m used to… and it goes fast! Or it seems that way because you walk the same amount of time. Some of the moves are a bit much for me due to my knees so I adapted it. Damn! I’m shocked I remembered how to grapevine from my days in Junior High when aerobics was just getting started. (Back when the dinosaurs walked the earth so to speak..)

Lord, if that’s the two mile I think I’ll be doing it for 3 or 4 weeks before I try the 4 mile.

I may need oxygen for that one. lol

We’ve been searching for more information on Richard’s family. It’s been like pulling teeth. Some of it is due to lazy recording of information, misspellings, and incomplete records. In one instance we couldn’t find anything about one of his relatives. In another we’ve searched cemetery listings and photos in the areas where his relatives died. I suggested a few options to explain the lack of records to Richard.

1. His family were aliens. There were beamed down and BINGO they were here.
2. Because they were aliens they don’t show up in cemetery records because they simply beamed out.
3. They were vampires. They never died. They just changed their names.
4. That somewhere in Michigan and Ohio there is a huge closet with their bodies stacked in it.

I have to say it is offensive to be going thru the records and see where the LDS church has come along and done their baptism after death routine. I don’t give a rat’s ass if it was asked for by a descendant. IMO it violates the person’s free will and the choices they made during their lives.

It also smacks of vanity… because when you get down to it it’s done just to make themselves feel better.

I swear if someone did that to me I’d haunt their asses for the rest of eternity…

Any LDS person and/or my family members can now consider themselves warned. lol

It WAS the bed!

I slept for 6 hours last night on the couch! I also didn’t end up taking a nap yesterday.

This morning I ordered another memory foam mattress topper, 2 inches, that should help I think. It comes with two memory foam pillows… I’m not expecting much from them. They look uncomfortable.

I was beginning to get a bit worried. I hadn’t had trouble with sleeping since we added the previous topper. I wondered if my blood sugar was higher… sometimes sleepiness can be a sign that it’s up. I feel like a real freaking human being today instead of a foot dragging zombie from hell.

TGIF

Adding up the damage:

1. Stabbed myself in the hand with a knife trying to open a package of challah bread. Stupid, stupid, stupid! (Yesterday)
2. Opened the door to the dryer (we have a stackable), pushed it back, leaned down over the washer and when I started to stand back up the door had swung back and slammed me in the back of the neck. That was this morning… damn my neck hurts.

I’ve got dishes soaking, doing the last of the winter clothing that we finished wearing and I’m putting them away, and I’ve already gotten the summer clothing out. I made butternut squash soup this morning and had a bit with my lunch of a tiny piece of salmon (leftovers from last night), green beans, and new potatoes. Pretty damned good but I doubt Richard would like it. I cleaned out the fridge yesterday.. god I hate that job. I could find something else to do or I could sit here on my ass for a bit and relax…

Guess what I’m going to do? lol

Oh, I slept almost 5 full hours last night! Up from the usual of late 3. Tomorrow I’m trying for 6 or 7 hours. I think it’s our bed. It’s so hard. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Then again maybe I’m just getting more sensitive to the bed since my age is slowly creeping up. lol

I’m going through a stage where I sleep 3 or 4 hours a night and then late in the day I nod off. It may be from stress. This weekend I let the diet go for a few days an had what I wanted. Now I have to buckle down and get back on the equine bitch from hell (diet/exercise).

Today I’m going to wear my ass out and I will NOT go to sleep before bedtime. I swear if I have to use toothpicks to keep my eyes open dammit I’m going to. I went thru this insomnia shit twice in my adult life and I absolutely hate it!

I’m going to exercise, go thrift shopping if possible, do all of the laundry, switch seasonal clothing, clean up the kitchen, cook for the day, and do the homeschool thing.

By god if that doesn’t make me tired enough to sleep tonight I’m going to buy a rubber body hammer (used in car body repair) and slam myself in the head with it!

My main concern for the next week is trying to sleep normally and get back on the diet. The exercise will help with the damned stress. That’s my top priority this week if you don’t hear from me again.

FINALLY!

Feeling better and exercising again! Okay I mentioned we got the table and the cell phone. I didn’t mention, I think, our little trip to Super Cao Nguen the huge asian market in town. I could have stayed there for hours. We looked around and bought some things. I got some baby bok choy, snow peas, sauces, some really cute dishes. Let Joshua pick the pattern. Blue. We also bought some of the most wonderful pickled carrot/daikons. I love them and they’re sweet! I usually can’t stand sweet pickles but these I love. I’ve found a recipe to make them myself.

I went to a thrift shop the other day and found a ton of oneida silverware. They were different patterns and none of them matched. I paid 3.50 for all of them. 10 cents a piece. Some of them were very heavy and I like that so I’m going to start watching at the local thrifts and find what I can. I don’t care if they don’t match. I don’t like it when things match. It reminds me of the evil Martha Stewart. Ick.

This morning Richard got home and asked me a question I couldn’t answer. lol He reminded ME that our 10th anniversary is Friday and asked what I wanted to do. I was floored. I have no clue what I want to do. He’s probably thinking steak for dinner but I’m thinking cheese enchiladas. I love cheese enchiladas and it’s one thing I can’t really have on my diet. Maybe I can talk him into going to a mexican place and getting take out and coming home and watching movies and playing games.

I’d much rather spend time with my two favorite guys than sit in some crappy joint eating.

I don’t know! I’ll have to think about it!

Steampunk

Yesterday Richard mentioned the term to me and I promptly forgot it while doing something else. Today he showed me some examples of it online. WOW! I always thought I was a little strange liking Vernian (Jules Verne) types of things. Movies, TV shows, etc. Now I find out I’m not the only one interested in those types of things.

The first thing he showed me was this gorgeous mod of a desktop computer. (Check out the other images on the page for more.) Then he showed me Datamancers Steampunk Laptop Mod. It has a working clockwork in the top. Both of these are beautiful examples of the style… leather, wood, brass, etc.

I think it’s cool the only thing is I’d die if I paid $800 for a keyboard and spilled something on it!
