GERMAN man who lived with over 200 black widow spiders was fatally bitten by one and then eaten by his other pet creepy-crawlies.

Yesterday and today sucked big time. The temp in the apartment never got below 80 degrees. I felt like I was on slow simmer. They finally got it fixed tonight so it’s slowly cooling off in here. I couldn’t have taken another night on slow burn.

Bad news is…. my freezer isn’t freezing right. Don’t know if it was 2 days with no AC or what but all the food in my freezer started thawing out. If necessary I’ll throw everything in the freezer out. I won’t be happy but I’ll do it. The air flow is fine.. I hope it’s the humidity the past few days.

God I’d dread calling the apartment managers and telling them we need a new fridge. When we moved in they’d put in a fridge with a door that opened the wrong way. When they replaced it they pulled a hole in the carpet. God only knows what havoc they’d create replacing this one.

Crossing my fingers that it will be okay..

*Later

Fridge is okay for now. Thank God.

Richard’s Trip

He’ll be going in October for his visit. He’ll be gone five days, the longest we’ve been separated since we’ve been married, but if he doesn’t go now he might not get a chance to see his Father while he still remembers him.

I’m dreading the where’s Dad question from Joshua. We’ll explain it to him but I’m sure he’ll ask me. I’ve told him while Dad is gone we’ll make some homemade pizzas which tickled him. (I don’t know why.. he refuses to eat pizza crust. You haven’t lived till you’ve seen a kid using a spoon hoover the sauce and cheese on a pizza. Oy.) I’ll probably make some things for myself that I can freeze ahead and make some salads. I really don’t want to overdo it and kill myself while R is gone. My main job will be entertaining the child, shoehorning some learning into his head, and keeping him occupied.

Having been sick the past few days because of the heat I’m beginning to doubt that I’ll finish the afghan for the sister he’s visiting. She may have to wait until December like the rest. I can’t handle being draped in yarn right now. Ugh. It’s hot enough.

I’ll probably buy the yarn and try but I’m not placing any bets on when hers will be done.

God what a day

Vacuum arrived. Richard tried it later and we were amazed at what it pulled out of the carpet.

I was sick late in the day. The heat was awful and my stomach kept rolling all day because of it. I’ve never handled heat well and have problems with appetite during the summer. This was awful. Still feel queasy. Supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. Doesn’t help that the boobs haven’t brought the new filter. It’s such an odd size that we can’t find them in stores. I took the current one out and whacked it against the wall outside and most of the crap came out of it. Perhaps it will work until they bring the new one.

Richard talked to his Sister tonight and they talked about him coming down to visit while his Father is there in October. His Father has alzheimers and he’s healthy but the memory is really getting bad. While I don’t relish the thought of being on my own with the wee one for five days… he needs to see his Dad before it’s too late. It would be too expensive for all of us to go.

Richard said he’d collect some things down there that we can’t get here (file, special hot sauces, etc) and have his Sis ship it back. I’ll take some new pics of the kid and print them on photo paper and R can give them to his Sis and his Dad.

Whew.. still queasy. Better cut this short. Ack.

It’s a bouncing baby vacuum cleaner. It’s red which is good. And one of the glowing reviews it received said it sucked like a crack whore.. works for me. lol
