The wee one has been sick with a cold. He’s just about over it. He has rarely been sick so when he does he gets a bit maudlin. lol I much prefer him running around and making noise to that.

Richard and I decided to split up his schooling. He has seen how stressed and tense I get when I attempt to do anything related to math. (I detest math… always have. Don’t know why.) So he volunteered to take it on. I think Joshua picks up on my feelings about it. He should relate better to his Father too I hope. So I get to take on writing, reading, science, art, and whatever else comes up. I’m cool with that. Richard also mentioned that he’d like to help with science some too. That’s cool. I wasn’t looking forward to making a volcano. lol

We’ve also decided that instead of daily goals in his curriculum we’re going to switch to weekly goals. At times he wants to work faster and at other times at a slower pace. His curriculum might call for doing two pages in reading for the day but he’ll do two more days worth. Then at times he puts his feet down and says “No!” lol

My favorite word has become flexibility. If he balks at doing something I give him some space and some time to come around. He usually does. He’s like his parents.. he does NOT like to be pushed into doing something.

Tomorrow the new Christmas tree gets here. We’ll put it up so that I can measure for a tree skirt. I also need to finish my Aunt Elaine’s afghan (2 down 5 more to go) and get it and my Aunt Karen’s in the mail. The next afghan is going to be done in Christmas colors…one of Richard’s sisters is as big a Christmas freak as I am.

Last year I had all kinds of plans for doing things for Christmas but time ran out so I’m starting early. I’m buying some crafting-ornament sets for the kid and I to put together, I’m considering making some icicles out of crystal and gemstone beads, painting (on flour dough ornaments for the kid, sand dollars, and plastic balls for me).

I need to make a list of what I want to do… I’ve got 6 months to get it all done. lol
